You\u2019re burning the candle at both ends, trying to do right by your family and your business. Some days feel like you\u2019re spinning your wheels and wondering, <em>what do I even have to show for this?<\/em> Other days feel like a rocket ship ride you can\u2019t keep up with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve lived all of it. And over the years, I\u2019ve learned that no matter how big or small your business is, one truth remains:<br><strong>Structure is everything.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s how I\u2019ve learned to approach the \u201cyou\u2019re always working\u201d problem\u2014and how you can, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-start-by-shrinking-your-plate\">Start by Shrinking Your Plate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This idea comes from author Mike Michalowicz (you might know him from <em>Profit First<\/em>), who also wrote <em>Clockwork<\/em>. He introduced a concept I love: <strong>the theory of small plates<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like you\u2019ll eat less when you\u2019re served on a smaller plate, you\u2019ll <em>do less<\/em> when you reduce the space you give your time.
