You ask how they\u2019re doing and the answer is always the same: \u201cBusy.\u201d<br>And hey, maybe you <em>are<\/em> that friend. The Question That Can Change Everything<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-everyone-s-busy-but-is-that-what-matters\">Everyone\u2019s Busy\u2026 But Is That What Matters?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Before I had kids, I <em>thought<\/em> I was busy. And now? With three kids in sports and a calendar that looks like a game of Tetris, I realize just how wrong I was. Everyone is busy in their own way. But that doesn\u2019t mean they\u2019re accomplishing what truly matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re a business owner, this message is especially for you. Stop wearing \u201cbusy\u201d like a badge of honor.<br><em>**Busy isn\u2019t the goal\u2014**being effective is.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">So, What Does <em>Effective<\/em> Look Like?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For me, being effective doesn\u2019t mean I hit a certain sales goal or cleared my inbox. It means I made real progress on the <em>big rocks<\/em> in my business\u2014the projects or actions that generate income, drive growth, or truly support my team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Think about your own workday. Were you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Checking off small, never-ending tasks just to feel productive?<br>(<strong>Busy<\/strong>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or making bold progress on the most important goals for your business?<br>(<strong>Effective<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s a tip: At the end of each day, I make a \u201c<strong>To-Done List<\/strong>.\u201d Not a to-do list for tomorrow, but a reflection of what I <em>actually accomplished<\/em> today.<br>Try doing this for a week\u2014you\u2019ll quickly see whether your days are full or <em>fruitful<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Effectiveness Goes Beyond Work<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Being effective isn\u2019t just about business. It\u2019s also about how you show up in your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I ask myself daily:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Did I show up as the mom and wife I want to be?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Did I tuck my kids in and tell them I love them\u2014even when I was exhausted?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Did I prioritize <em>them<\/em> or pour my energy into everything else first?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And since recovering from knee surgery, I\u2019ve had to ask myself a new question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Did I take care of myself today?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Did I do my PT? Drink water? Get my steps in? Move my body?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>It\u2019s easy to cut corners when you\u2019re \u201ctoo busy,\u201d but take it from me: <em>don\u2019t wait until your health forces you to slow down.<\/em> Your well-being is the foundation for everything else\u2014your family, your business, your future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your Calendar = Your Priorities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you showed me your calendar, I could tell you what your priorities are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So what does yours say about you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You have a choice every day: to be <em>busy<\/em>, or to be <em>effective<\/em>. To chase tasks, or to chase purpose.
