You focus on promoting half of it\u2014creating fit videos, styling reels, window displays, and live sales\u2014while the other half gets left behind. The problem isn\u2019t necessarily that the inventory is bad; it\u2019s that it didn\u2019t get the love it needed to sell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: Learn from Your Inventory Mistakes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you discount, take a moment to analyze your stock. If a product didn\u2019t sell because you never properly showcased it, now is the time to take action:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Reshoot product photos<\/strong> and feature them on your website and social media.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Re-merchandise in-store<\/strong> to give it a fresh look.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wear the items yourself<\/strong> to generate interest.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Run ads<\/strong>\u2014but only if you have enough stock to justify it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If the demand for a product has completely faded, it\u2019s time to move on to markdowns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Use Smart Markdown Strategies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The biggest mistake retailers make with markdowns is waiting too long. The longer you hold onto inventory, the less valuable it becomes. Here\u2019s how to clear it efficiently:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Take a big markdown upfront<\/strong> rather than reducing it gradually in small increments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Use bundle sales<\/strong>\u2014group products together at a discount.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Try ladder sales<\/strong>\u2014offer increasing discounts based on the number of items purchased (e.g., buy two, get 20% off; buy three, get 30% off).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Recognize that inventory is cash<\/strong>\u2014treat every unsold item as money sitting on your rack.
