We compiled some of the most common HR mistakes many small business owners make and explain how you can avoid them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">5 Human Resource Mistakes to Avoid:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>1. <em><strong>The Unknown Road<\/strong><\/em> &#8211; being unclear of what job people are responsible for is a slippery slope when it comes to managing people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Be Clear in your job descriptions<\/li><li>Identify expectations and responsibilities<\/li><li>Keep your employee handbook updated<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>2. Hiring Friends\/Family <\/em><\/strong>&#8211; business is business and should be managed as such!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>One bad apple can ruin everything!<\/li><li>No special favors or treatment in the workplace<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>3. Failure to Document <\/em><\/strong>&#8211; We promise you will forget it if you don\u2019t write it down! Be exact in your references to a past situation or else you have no case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>File all documents in your employee&#8217;s file immediately<\/li><li>Date everything<\/li><li>Explain to staff if there has been a complaint\/problem or praise.
