A retail industry metric you should pay attention to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s the secret to their success?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>GETTING SHOPPERS INTO STORES WITH&nbsp;INTRIGUE &amp; A PLACE TO HANGOUT<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Retailers are having success using almost anything that keeps shoppers on their toes, suggests the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/10\/25\/style\/getting-shoppers-into-stores.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New York Times<\/a>. Designer Tory Burch says that she wants customers to enter one of her 100 namesake stores and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/10\/25\/style\/getting-shoppers-into-stores.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">and feel like they are going into a home. Where they could hang out, have a drink, have their husband sit on a couch and it would be kid-friendly<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Canada Goose\u2019s brand new flagship in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/pamdanziger\/2018\/09\/15\/canada-goose-opens-the-cold-room-so-customers-can-experience-its-warmth\/#5bfacffd59f8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mall at Short Hills in New Jersey<\/a>, customers can try on coats at temperatures as low as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadagoose.com\/us\/en\/flagship-new-jersey.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">minus 13 degrees<\/a>&nbsp;Fahrenheit in the retailer\u2019s Cold Room. A unique experience that shoppers won\u2019t find at many other stores and a fun, interactive way to generate buzz about the brand\u2019s products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the original pioneer\u2019s of the \u201cretail residence,\u201d Ralph Lauren opened his first flagship in the 1980s on the corner of 72nd Street and Madison Avenue. The former&nbsp;French Renaissance revival mansion was renovated and decorated, transforming it into a \u201cdestination whose value transcended the clothes inside,\u201d says&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/10\/25\/style\/getting-shoppers-into-stores.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cEver since Ralph Lauren opened his first store . . . he never really thought of retail as just his opportunity to sell clothes.&nbsp; &nbsp;What he did on Madison Avenue was create a home.
