Can you believe we are already approaching the end of 2018? \u00a0I don\u2019t know about you, but I feel like this year completely flew! \u00a0Now with the hustle and bustle of year-end, along with clearing out inventory, buying gifts for my family & planning for 2019—I am exhausted! \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So naturally, we have put together a list of 10 new years resolutions for you, the owner, to focus on in the new year! \u00a0As moms, wives, and employers it\u2019s important to focus on yourself as well as others! You can\u2019t pour from an empty bucket. <\/span><\/p>\n

Drink Plenty Of Water<\/b><\/p>\n

Drinking water has lots of benefits, but one of the major ones is added boosted energy, which I would imagine all of us need! \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Exercise<\/b><\/p>\n

Working out sometimes seems like it\u2019s impossible to do with the long list of all the other things you must do as a boutique owner, but it has so many benefits! \u00a0For starters, it\u2019s amazing at helping with anxiety–which I\u2019m sure would be a benefit to a lot of us, myself included! <\/span><\/p>\n

Block Off Time From Work<\/b><\/p>\n

Make sure you are taking time to disconnect from work & take time to relax. \u00a0Owning your own business can be fun but also it can consume your life. It\u2019s important that you set boundaries within your business to make sure you have time to decompress. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Find a Book That Excites You<\/b><\/p>\n

Not only is reading a good book one of the most relaxing things you can do for yourself, but it also is great for improving your memory as well as focus & concentration. \u00a0Take all of these benefits, pick up your favorite Rachel Hollis book, and you have a recipe for a healthy mind & body. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Take Time to Do Something You Enjoy<\/b><\/p>\n

Make sure you are taking time to do things, outside of work, that you enjoy. \u00a0It\u2019s important that as a business owner, you are taking the time to disconnect from the everyday stress of your boutique.<\/span><\/p>\n

Take A Weekend (or more) Trip<\/b><\/p>\n

Do something different, go to a vineyard, plan a girls trip, take a long weekend to the Caribbean. \u00a0Do something that you haven\u2019t done before, something that doesn\u2019t involve work. <\/span><\/p>\n

Pay Yourself, Even if it\u2019s a Little Bit<\/b><\/p>\n

I think one of the biggest mistakes I made at the beginning of owning my store was that I didn\u2019t pay myself anything. \u00a0Everyone may not feel this way but I\u2019m pretty adamant that all your hard work needs to be rewarded, even if it\u2019s $50 a week. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Make Plans & Catch up with Friends<\/b><\/p>\n

Make time with friends & loved ones a priority, plan to put away your phone and relax. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Take a Nap <\/b><\/p>\n

I know, it sounds crazy. \u00a0I\u2019m the worst at using my free time to take care of myself, most of the time I\u2019ll throw in a load of laundry or wash the dishes, pick up the toys. \u00a0If you have 30 minutes, use it to take a nap. Just 20-30 minutes will your mood, alertness & performance in the day to day activities! <\/span><\/p>\n

Delegate <\/b><\/p>\n

Take some items off your list in 2019 if you can, often times we think that we are the only ones that can handle life\/ the business but that\u2019s the quickest way to get burned out. \u00a0Make a list of your responsibilities and see if you can hand any of them off to an employee, a babysitter or your partner. <\/span><\/p>\n

Create a Vision Board<\/b><\/p>\n

What are your goals and dreams for 2019? How do you want to make others feel, what is the legacy you want to leave, and where is your big vision headed? \u00a0Map it out on a board in your office so you can stay excited and focused on it daily. The more you see it, feel it and believe it, the more you will naturally take action toward your highest vision. <\/span><\/p>\n
